Quality customer support is vital to retaining customers over the long-term. More importantly, quality customer support is a sign of an ethical business that has confidence in the commodities that it sells.

Technical support exists within the customer support tree. There are three tiers of technical support. Because the support department is small, the tiers of support will frequently overlap.

Basic:

All commodities requiring technical support feature this base level of support. The basic support technician can be thought of as a friend who has solid general knowledge of the subject matter. They didn't build or design the malfunctioning product, but they have been thoroughly trained in general trouble-shooting techniques. One of their strongest assets is patience, understanding, and confidence that the solution will be found.

Expert:

If the basic tier of support does not produce a satisfactory solution, the technical problem will be handed over to the expert level support staff. The expert support technician possesses highly refined technical expertise. Many times this technician will have taken part in the actual design and/or manufacturing of the malfunctioning product.

Orgastic:

Orgastic support doesn't really exist. It is merely an urban legend. The legend stories a level of support so intensive, so gratifying, that the customer is left with a permanent flush of satiation. The resulting effect is a mercantile unification on the quantum molecular level that persists throughout the ages.
